Upcoming Workshops:

Beginner/Intermediate (1): These workshops are designed to encourage new artists. By learning certain skills, participants who have never painted before are, without exception, able to make a work of art. New painters learn about supports (painting surfaces) and what brushes to use for different mediums. They will also learn brush strokes, texturing, paint consistency and how to apply them to their painting surface.

Much of the morning is spent breaking a painting down into manageable pieces. Learning about composition and to paint individual objects: trees, rocks, water or sky for example, teaches new artists how to put them together into a painting.

In the afternoon, using a step-by-step teaching method and in the context of doing a painting, participants will follow my instruction stopping at intervals throughout the painting process. At the end of the day, every participant will go home with a work of art they can be proud of.

Intermediate (2)-Advanced: Intermediate/Advanced workshops are for those artists who are ready to expand their painting skills. Participants are encouraged to use their own individual resource material.

Some of the morning is spent going over “trouble spots” with demonstrations given by the instructor offering solutions.

Late morning and the remainder of the day will be spent painting your own work with personal attention given to each participant.
