CHESTER ART FESTIVAL

August 6-10, 2010

Morning 9am to 12pm:  This on location watercolor workshop will begin with a demonstration on how to edit our painting.  Using lots of lots of water, large brushes and bright broad strokes, this painting will take on a life of its own.   For this process, you will need one sheet of watercolor paper (I suggest 140 lb Arches, Fabriano, TH Saundrs/Waterford),  a one inch flat watercolor brush and one size 10 round.  For pigment:  I use DVP (DiVinci Brand) Permanent Rose, Permanent Red, Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Gamboge (yellow) Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna. (If you are using other brands, similar colors will be fine.  However, I try to stay away from opaque colors and using transparent only).   A water container, rags and a inexpensive watercolor pad (WalMart) or Bristol board cut in for practice.  I recommend the use of an easel or if using a chair, a board for taping your paper.  For the easel users, a TV table is also useful.

Additional necessities: Sun block, sun hat and plenty of drinking water.

Looking forward to being with you all – j’anna-jacqulyn
