“DRAMATIC SEASCAPE”
The above seascape describes
a stormy windy day that gives this painting drama and an atmospheric
quality. The rocks in the foreground are reflected in
the wet sand and the beach walker brings scale to the work.
This painting is done
on a very wet surface and with a limited palette of raw sienna, burnt sienna
and ultramarine blue. The jacket on the
figure is permanent red. The final
details are painted once the surface is dry enough to produce hard edges.
You will need a plastic
water container, rags (cotton towels are excellent), sketch paper for exercises
and note taking and a hairdryer is also useful. I recommend an inexpensive
watercolor pad.
Class is limited to 15. If you have any questions call 823-1905 or email ja864@yahoo.com
