“BARN ON A HILLTOP”
The above landscape
describes a windy day that gives the painting an atmospheric quality. The background is misty and the trees and
grasses are blowing. Even the old barn
seems to be leaning under the wind’s power.
This painting has a
nice balance of negative/positive shapes.
The rocks in the foreground anchor the work. Drawing the barn higher
than the horizon line gives a lesson in perspective.
You will also need a
plastic water container, rags (cotton towels are excellent), sketch paper for
exercises and note taking and a hairdryer is also useful. I recommend an
inexpensive watercolor pad.
Class is limited to 15. If you have any questions call 823-1905 or email ja864@yahoo.com
