Lesson Plan for Tuesday, November
17th, 2009
“Spider Webs”

.
There are two
methods to this lesson. The first is
done using a very sharp knife. The under
painting is created using wet-in-wet and LOTS of dark pigment. Once the paper is completely dry, the white
for the spider web is “carved” into the darkened surface.
For the second
painting the spider web is applied using a painting knife and masking fluid.
Once the fluid is dry, large washes are applied. The paper has to be very dry before the fluid
is removed.
(The spiders will
be in their webs on lesson day)……………………
