“AUTUMN OUTING”

The painting was painted as a vortex of gold which is evident right now. I soaked the paper then set it on to a bath towel. Then I used circular strokes of gold and soft green to create the vortex – as the paper dried into the towel, I continued the painting to completion.

Colors: Quinacridone gold, ultramarine blue, gamboges and burnt sienna.

Brushes: 1” flat, #10 round or any suitable brush of your choice.

Colors: Full Palette.

(The brand I use is DVP, Di Vinci Brand Artist’s quality but any artist’s brand will do).

Paper: Any brand of 140 or 200 lb watercolor paper.

Brushes: One inch flat and size 10 or 12 round

Palette: One with deep enough wells to hold a fair amount of pigment

You will also need: Water Container, rags (cotton towels are excellent), sketch paper for exercises and note taking and a hairdryer.
